Nicholas Culpeper (18 October 1616 – 10 January 1654) was an English botanist, herbalist, and physician who dedicated his life to making medical and botanical knowledge accessible to ordinary people in their native language rather than Latin.
His landmark book The English Physitian (1652, later known as Culpeper’s Complete Herbal) has remained continuously in print for nearly four centuries.
